Miss Mutesi Jolly, who was crowned Miss Rwanda in 2016, recently arrived in London, UK, to attend the Oxford Africa Conference as a distinguished guest. This event is organized by the Oxford University African Society and will take place from May 24 to 26, 2024.
Upon her arrival in London, Mutesi Jolly was warmly greeted by her brother, Rwigema. She shared her excitement on Instagram, posting: “I have arrived in London for Oxford. Rwandan ladies, this handsome, intelligent, and well-mannered man you see in this photo is my older brother. Now you know who to approach, and I’m the ‘Manager.'”
Mutesi Jolly shared with her thousands of followers on social media that she was honored to be invited to the Oxford Africa Conference 2024. She expressed her pride in her achievements and referenced a verse from Proverbs, emphasizing that a person’s gift makes room for them.
The Oxford University African Society, which was established in 1958, organizes this annual conference to bring together African students and alumni, along with influential leaders from various fields. According to the invitation extended to Miss Mutesi Jolly, she will be a guest of honor at the event.
Other notable speakers at the conference include Ghanaian President Nana Akufo Addo, Dr. Donald Kaberuka, the former President of the African Development Bank, and Amina Mohamed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations. The conference focuses on advancing Africa’s development, finding practical solutions, and reinforcing the continent as a source of innovative answers.
Currently 27 years old, Mutesi Jolly represented Rwanda in the Miss World 2016 pageant. She is now the Vice President of the Miss East Africa Beauty Pageant, held in Tanzania.
