Among those aboard were President Raisi, aged 63, accompanied by Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian and Seyyed Mohammad-Ali Al-Hashem, the respected head of the Tabriz Mosque. The loss of these prominent figures sent shockwaves through Iran and beyond, with former Foreign Minister Javad Zarif expressing deep sorrow over the passing of his successor, Hossein Amirabdollahian, whom he affectionately referred to as his beloved brother.
